Hi everyone, it’s Sophia! This is my fifth time at MSTERIO, and this year I’m a part of the kitchen staff. Day three began with another cool morning. Hiroki, Shige, and Issey's cabin were the breakfast prep team, so they woke up extra early (at 6:45 am!) to come help us prepare breakfast for everyone at MSTERIO. The campers cut ham, cheese, muffins and other breakfast foods for us all to enjoy.
皆さん、こんにちは！ソフィアです。MSTERIOに参加するのは5回目で、今年はキッチンスタッフとして参加しています。3日目も涼しい朝から始まりました。ヒロキ、シゲ、イッセーのキャビンが朝食担当だったので、早起きをして（6時45分！）MSTERIOのみんなのために朝食の準備を手伝ってくれました。ハムやチーズ、マフィンなど、朝食に必要な食材をカットしてくれました。
This morning there was a Hawaiian dance class with a special guest and teacher, Miwa. Charlie, a counselor, told me that, at the beginning of class, one of the campers was feeling a bit shy and didn’t want to dance in front of other people. However, by the end of the class, she was dancing freely with everyone - all anxieties danced away.
今朝は、昨日に引き続きMiwaさんを迎えてハワイアンダンスのクラスがありました。カウンセラーのチャーリーによると、最初、一人のキャンパーが少し恥ずかしがっていて、人前で踊るのを嫌がっていたそうですが、クラスが終わる頃には、みんなと一緒に楽しそうに自由に踊っている姿を見てほっと安心。
Since the rain finally stopped, we were also able to hold swimming class this morning. It was a little warmer than yesterday, and many campers asked if they could take swimming class! Today, a first-time participant, Chiharu, who is a counselor as well as a dance instructor, Yutaro, a lifeguard who came all the way from Okinawa, Seiko, who came back to teach drama, and Yuki, who is teaching magic all arrived.
ようやく雨がやんだので、今朝は水泳のクラスも開催することができました。昨日より少し暖かく、多くのキャンパーが「水泳教室を受けたい！」と言ってきました。デイレクターは、沖縄からわざわざ来てくれたライフガードのユウタロウです。そして、今日からダンスクラスを担当する初参加のチハル、ドラマを教えるために戻ってきたセイコ、マジックを教えるユウキがさる小に到着しました。
Today’s lunch was curry rice! Everybody loved the curry so much, campers and staff alike came back for seconds and thirds. Lots of campers came to help us during lunch prep and lunch clean-up, and it was a huge help.
今日のランチは野菜たっぷりのカレーライスでした。みんなカレーが大好きで、キャンパーもスタッフもおかわり、おかわりと、何度も食べていました。昼食の準備や後片付けにたくさんのキャンパーが手伝いに来てくれて、大助かりでした。
In the evening, we invited bamboo artist Yuri Fukuda and four staff members for a special event: a two-hour challenge to make bamboo lanterns. It was exciting to see everyone make their own lanterns, each one unique and one-of-kind.
夕食前には、竹芸家の福田有里さんとスタッフ4人を招いて、特別企画として2時間かけて竹灯籠作りに挑戦しました。みんなそれぞれ個性的で世界にひとつだけの灯籠を作り、盛り上がりました。
We had a very special Hawaiian-themed dinner tonight! Anthony got up extremely early this morning just to decorate Sugoi Hall and Cafe 101 for the occasion. We had pizza and a big salad made with fresh vegetables and a homemade salad dressing. For dessert, we received a gift of a very special manju called “Hula Man.” A fun fact, one of our campers' grandparents are the manufacturers of this manju.
夜は、ハワイをテーマにした特別なディナーパーテイーです アンソニーは、この日のために朝早くからスゴイホールとカフェ101の飾り付けをしてくれました。夕食はピザと新鮮なお野菜にキッチンスタッフ特製の無添加ドレッシングをかけて皆で食べました。デザートには、キャンパーのお爺ちゃまとお婆ちゃまが作っている「フラマン饅頭」をいただきました。
Our special event tonight was a concert! Takuma, the percussionist, Acchan, a musician, and Kiyo, a singer, all performed together. Acchan sang and made everyone laugh while she played her ukelele. Takuma showed us that anything can be used to make beautiful music, even a cardboard box and scrubbing brush! Kiyo sang his original songs, and everyone was touched. Together they made a wonderful musical trio.
今夜のスペシャルイベントは、コンサート。パーカッションのタクマ、ミュージシャンのあっちゃん、シンガーソングライターのキヨの3人が一緒に演奏。あっちゃんはウクレレを弾きながら歌い、みんなを笑わせてくれました。タクマは、段ボール箱やたわしなどを使い、どんなアイテムでも美しい音楽を奏でることができることを教えてくれました。キヨはオリジナル曲を歌い、みんなとても感動していました。素晴らしいトリオコンサートに拍手喝采！！！！！！！！
明日も楽しみです！
