いよいよお別れの日が来てしまいました。初参加のキャンパーにとっては長く感じたかもしれません、でも振り返ってみると、あっという間の８日間でしたね。

心配していたお天気にも恵まれ、大勢の素晴らしいゲストのみなさんにもいらしていただき、各クラスも充実。　大きなけが人もなく、病気になって病院に行くようなこともなく、ここまで来ることができました。

ミステリオのお別れ会は、朝ものすごく早起きしていらしてくださったご家族やそのお友達とご一緒にランチを共にしながらの時間。

秦万里子さんのライブミュージックBGMに合わせてキャンパーの登場。そのあと、初日に披露したキャビン名やサウンド、スカルプチャーの再現。　スタッフも何回かに分けて自己紹介をさせていただきながら、親御さんも一緒に和気あいあい。

パート１は、GOHEIのクラスをとったLittle Pianistsたちによる演奏会。

そのあと、秦万里子さんのクラスをとった三名のキャンパーたちが　みんなのチキンダンスをピアノで連弾。

そしていよいよグループ発表。AIKO指導によるダンス。　曲目はHigh School Musical から All For One!

去年のダンスパフォーマンスもすごかったけれど、今年はさらにパワーアップ。　なんてったって、曲のテンポが早い上に、振付がかなり複雑だけれど、そのみんなのプロ級のうまさに言葉が出てこないほどの感動。　なんでもやりたい、という気持ちさえあれば、どんなことでもできちゃうことの証明がこのダンスによって明確になりました。

第一部を飾るのは、あれしかないでしょう、、、、そのあれとは、もちろん！！！！！　CIT&Senior Campers （中高生）によるドラマのパフォーマンス。

今年は喜劇 Twelfth Night にチャレンジです。

喜劇を演じるのはなかなか難しいといわれています、笑いをとるには、「間」が大事だから。その上、今回は歌もあり、ちょっとした踊りもありという豪華版。　音楽も生演奏も入ってパワーアップ。　ミステリオにふさわしく　セリフも英語と日本語とインターナショナル色たっぷりのパフォーマンスでした。

毎年演劇の指導をしてくださっているSeikoさんの指導力にもブラボーです。普段のキャラクターとは一味も二味も違う味を出しながら個性的な演技を披露してくれた中高生。　あまりの上手な出来栄えに、初めから最後まで泣きっぱなしのスタッフや親御さんの姿もちらほら。

本気を出せばどこまでもどんどんできるんだよ、というミステリオパワーを存分に発揮してくれた今年のCIT&SRたち、素晴らしかったよ。　おめでとう。

ダンスもしかり、正味５日しかないリハーサル時間に、これだけの作品を演じあげることができる中高生のその集中力と演技力に、総立ちの観客とブラボーの声とがたえませんでした。

第一部の終わりはミステリオOHを大合唱しながら、今年の記念バッチをキャンパーにあげるセレモニー。その後、おいしいビュッフェランチのスタート。　冷たいバスタ、カレー、サラダ他、５種類ほどのおかずがオンパレード。お別れランチの最中は、キャンパーやスタッフ同士Ｔシャツにメッセージを書きあう時間にも使われます。

会場内は、期間中キャンパーたちが作った数々の作品でいっぱい。　ミステリオに参加したことがなくても一緒にずっといたような錯覚を起こしてしまうのも、ミステリオの魅力の１つかもしれません。

第二部は秦万里子さんによるHEROSの歌と演奏で幕開け。　今年カウンセラー最後の５名　（Moe, Minami, Yuka, Takuya & Max) の卒業セレモニーと共に、元カウンセラー第一号のDAIAからの心温まるメッセージを読み上げました。

カウンセラーたちがどうしても最後のほうで時間を１０分ほしいと昨日からせがまれていたため、セレモニーの後は、カウンセラーたちの時間。　ところが、なんとそれは彼らから　のぞみへのメッセージビデオだったのです。　密かに今年参加してくださったすべてのキャンパーたちを含む大勢の方たちからのメッセージビデオを映像に写されたのですが、全く知らなかった私は、なんとうれしさのあまり、泣き崩れてしまいました！　　してやられた、という感じ。

最後の最後は、ステージに全員のって、あなたの一歩を歌い、いよいよ本当のお別れの時間。

笑いあり、泣きありの８日間、今年のテーマはFRIENDSHIP。このテーマの通り、新しいお友達ができただけでなく、これまではぐくんできた友情がより深く、特別なものになったらいいなと、心から願っています。

みんなとたくさんのmake a differenceが経験できた２０１３年の夏、今、最高に幸せです。

ありがとう、ありがとう、ありがとう！！！！！

あ、それから、１２月２３日には恒例のミステリオクリスマスパーテイーが東京アメリカンクラブで開催されます。　今からカレンダーに大きな印をつけておいてくださいね。今年参加してくださったお子さんたちの親御さんには、改めてキャンプレポートを後日送らせていただきますね。

夏のミステリオｊは終わってしまいましたが、残りの夏、どうかみなさんよい季節を元気にお過ごしください。

We can't believe it's already the last day of camp. Thanks to our wonderful guests, staffs, and everyone who supported MSTERIO, we made it through without any incidents.

It's a tradition to spend the last day of camp with the families of the campers who traveled far to pickup their children. The campers are excited to show their families what they have been working on at MSTERIO.

The family members sat in anticipation in the dinning hall which turned into performance space for the day. The campers made their dramatic entrance to Mariko Hata's live piano, and staffs followed. We introduced the cabins and their respective cabin names as well as the staffs and counselors.

The first part of the performance began with the "Little Pianists" who took private lessons with GOHEI. Then, three campers who took music class with Mariko Hata played the "Chicken Dance Song" on the piano together. Finally, Aiko's dance class performed their routine called "All For One!" to the music from High School Musical. Last year's performance was amazing, but we were completely blown away this year! The choreography was complex and fast, but the campers danced perfectly. We learned that anything is possible if you put your heart in to it.

After the dance, it was time a theater piece "Twelfth Night" by the CIT & Senior Campers.

Not many know this, but comedy is said to be one of the most difficult genres in theater. The humor can die with a slight delay in tempo. Although it seems "fun", there's meticulous calculation and planning that goes into it. To make it more difficult, this play involves singing and dancing as well! The campers even incorporated English into their lines. Bravo to everyone, especially Seiko, the Drama instructor! Many family members and staffs were brought to tears by the heartfelt performance by the campers.

The audience gave a standing ovation!

We concluded the first part of the performance by singing "MSTERIO OH". As we sang, each campers received a special MSTERIO badge.

For lunch, cold pasta, curry, salad and a variety of appetizers were served buffet style. People also used this time to sign each other's MSTERIO T-shirts and looked at all the art work made by the campers.

After lunch, it was time for part II of the performance. Mariko Hata opened by singing and playing the song from HEROS. The staffs who will be graduating MSTERIO as counselors (Moe, Minami, Yuka, Takuya & Max) received a heartwarming message from Daia, one of the first counselors of MSTERIO.

Before the finale, the conselors asked 10 min of the performance time. It turned out, they wanted to show a video message made by all the campers and staffs involved in MSTERIO. It was so moving, I could not stop crying.

For the Grand Finale, we got on stage and sang "Anata no Ippo" (another MSTERIO song) together.

This year's MSTERIO theme was "Friendship". We hope the campers made new friends and deepened their ties with old friends.

We are so happy to have made a difference with everyone this year.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
